Marriott Bonvoy & Japan Airlines Preferred Partnership Program Terms and Conditions
Note: These terms and conditions (the “Preferred Partnership Rules”) form the basis of the Preferred Partnership Program offered by the Marriott Bonvoy® loyalty program (the “Marriott Loyalty Program”) and the JAL Mileage Bank® Program (the “JMB Program”). Registration and participation in the Preferred Partnership Program will be governed by the Preferred Partnership Rules, the “JMB Program Rules” and the “Marriott Loyalty Program Rules” (as such terms are defined below), which are the participant’s responsibility to read and understand. By submitting a registration request for, participating in or availing the benefits of the Preferred Partnership Program, participants agree to be bound by the Preferred Partnership Rules, the JMB Program Rules and the Marriott Loyalty Program Rules.
General conditions of the Preferred Partnership Program.
- The Preferred Partnership Program, including but not limited to the Status Offering (as defined below), is offered by the Marriott Loyalty Program and the JMB Program.
- Fly on points accrued, awards and benefits issued, including those issued pursuant to the Preferred Partnership Program, are subject to change and are subject to the rules (the “JMB Program Rules”) of the JMB Program. Japan Airlines Co., Ltd.(“JAL”) has the right to change the JMB Program Rules. JAL will notify members at least six (6) months prior to the termination of the JMB even though such changes may affect the value of Fly on points, JMB Status, or any benefits provided by the Preferred Partnership Program.
- The Preferred Partnership Program is also subject to the terms and conditions of the Marriott Loyalty Program, including without limitation the elite membership program (the “Marriott Loyalty Program Rules”), which are expressly incorporated herein. The Marriott Loyalty Program has the right to terminate the Marriott Loyalty Program or to change, limit, modify or cancel the Marriott Loyalty Program Rules, regulations, policies, procedures, conditions of participation, benefits, awards and special offers, in whole or in part, at any time, with or without notice, even though such changes may affect the value of Marriott Bonvoy points, Marriott Bonvoy Elite status, or any benefits provided by the Preferred Partnership Program. Fly on points and Marriott Bonvoy points may also be referred to as “Points”, and JMB Status and Marriott Bonvoy Elite Status may also be referred to as “Status” in these Preferred Partnership Rules.
- The Marriott Loyalty Program and the JMB Program have the right to terminate the Preferred Partnership Program or to change the Preferred Partnership Rules, regulations, policies, procedures, conditions of participation, benefits, awards and special offers, in whole or in part, at any time, with or without notice.
- Registration and/or participation in the Preferred Partnership Program is subject to compliance with all of the Preferred Partnership Rules, regulations, policies, procedures, conditions of participation, benefits, awards and special offers, as applicable, that the Marriott Loyalty Program and the JMB Program may, in their discretion, adopt from time to time, and which the Marriott Loyalty Program and the JMB Program have the sole right to interpret and apply. Any failure by the participant to comply with the Preferred Partnership Rules, the JMB Program Rules or the Marriott Loyalty Program Rules, or any action or misconduct by the participant that is detrimental to or is fraudulent in connection with the Marriott Loyalty Program and/or the JMB Program may result in the suspension or termination of participation in the Preferred Partnership Program. In addition to the previous statement, and not to the exclusion of other actions the Marriott Loyalty Program or the JMB Program may take, each of the Marriott Loyalty Program and/or JMB Program also reserves the right to prevent or cancel the Status Offering transactions where (i) there is reason to believe that the identity of the Marriott Loyalty Program or JMB Program member does not match the identity of the person to receive the Status Offering; or (ii) there is reason to suspect any fraudulent activity connected with the Status Offering.

To be eligible to the Status Offering (as defined below), you must:
- be an JAL Mileage Bank member (“JMB Member”) and have an account in good standing (“JAL Mileage Bank Account”), all in accordance with JMB Terms and Conditions: jal.co.jp/jp/en/jalmile/rules; and
- be a Marriott Bonvoy member (“Marriott Bonvoy Member”) and have an account in good standing (“Marriott Bonvoy Account”), all in accordance with the Marriott Bonvoy Terms and Conditions: marriott.com/loyalty/terms/default.mi.
- JMB Members and Marriott Bonvoy Members may also be referred to as “Members” in these Preferred Partnership Rules.
- All determinations made in connection with the Preferred Partnership Program, including without limitation with respect to the accumulation of Points and the satisfaction of the qualification requirements for Status, as applicable, in connection with the Preferred Partnership Program, will be made by the JMB Program and the Marriott Loyalty Program in their discretion and all such determinations will be considered final. The JMB Program and the Marriott Loyalty Program reserve the right to request further supporting documentation from the member to validate the satisfaction of the Criteria (defined below) but shall have no obligation to do so. The JMB Program and the Marriott Loyalty Program reserve the right to revise or reverse their determinations.
- The accumulation of Points, Status or any other status does not entitle members to any vested rights with respect to the Preferred Partnership Program, the JMB Program or the Marriott Loyalty Program.

Achieving higher status levels:
- Members who receive complimentary Crystal status or above in the JMB Program through the Preferred Partnership Program may reach higher JMB status levels, but only by reaching the published qualification requirements as set forth in the JMB Program. - Members who receive complimentary Silver, Gold, and Platinum Elite status in the Marriott Loyalty Program through the Preferred Partnership Program may reach higher Elite status levels, but only by reaching the published qualification requirements as set forth in the Marriott Loyalty Program Rules. Silver, Gold, and Platinum Elite status in the Marriott Loyalty Program that is granted through the Preferred Partnership Program may not be combined, added or stacked with any elite qualification requirements to achieve a higher Elite status level in the Marriott Loyalty Program. - No Points, Status, benefits, or awards issued pursuant to the Preferred Partnership Program may be transferred, sold, bartered or assigned, except as expressly permitted by the Marriott Loyalty Program and the JMB Program.
- By participating in the Preferred Partnership Program, members consent to the Marriott Loyalty Program and the JMB Program each sharing and receiving the JMB Program and the Marriott Loyalty Program member data with and from the Marriott Loyalty Program and the JMB Program and their respective subsidiaries, affiliates and agents. Such data will be used by the Marriott Loyalty Program and the JMB Program in connection with the Preferred Partnership Program and will be used individually by the Marriott Loyalty Program and the JMB Program in accordance with their respective privacy policies, which can be found at: marriott.com/marriott/privacy-us.mi.
- Japan Airlines and its subsidiaries, affiliates and agents are not responsible for any products or services of the Marriott Loyalty Program, its corporate parent Marriott International, Inc., or any of its respective subsidiaries, affiliates or agents, or of any other participating companies or partners.
- The Marriott International and its subsidiaries, affiliates and agents are not responsible for any products or services of the JMB Program or any of Japan Airlines Co., Ltd. or Japan Airlines’ respective subsidiaries, affiliates or agents, or of any other participating companies or partners.

- The JMB Program terms and conditions: JMB FLY ON points accrued, awards and benefits issued are subject to change and are subject to the rules of the JMB Program. Please allow six (6) weeks after completed qualifying activity for JMB FLY ON points to post to your account. JMB may change the JMB Program including, but not limited to, rules, regulations, JMB FLY ON points redemptions and special offers or terminate the JMB Program at any time and without notice. - Except as otherwise expressly prohibited or limited by applicable laws, Marriott International, Inc. (the “Company”) has the right to change, limit, modify or cancel the Marriott Loyalty Program Rules, Awards and Award levels at any time, with or without notice, even though such changes may affect the value of Points or Status, or the ability to obtain certain Awards. Partner Programs similarly reserve the right to modify their own programs, which may impact your rights and expected benefits under the Marriott Loyalty Program. The Company and Partner Programs may, among other things: (i) increase or decrease the number of Points, or upgrade or downgrade the Status received for a stay or required for an Award; (ii) withdraw, limit, modify or cancel any Award; (iii) add blackout dates, limit rooms available for any Award at any Participating Property or otherwise restrict the continued availability of Awards; (iv) change program benefits, travel partners, locations served by the Company or its travel partners, conditions of participation, rules for earning, redeeming, retaining or forfeiting Points or Status, or rules governing the use of Awards; (v) change or cancel its travel partner awards. In accumulating Points, Members may not rely upon the continued availability of any Award or Award level and category. The Company may terminate the Loyalty Program with six (6) months’ advance notice to all active Loyalty Members. At the Company’s sole discretion, the Company may choose to substitute a similar loyalty program for the Loyalty Program at any time immediately upon notice to active Loyalty Members. A Member may not accumulate Points or claim Redemption Awards, promotional Awards or Marriott Loyalty Program benefits or amenities after the termination of the Marriott Loyalty Program. If the Marriott Loyalty Program is terminated, all unredeemed Points will be forfeited without any obligation or liability, and no Redemption Award claims or promotional Award claims will be honored after the conclusion of the notice period. The Company may terminate any of the Marriott Loyalty Program in whole or in part, in any jurisdiction on less than six months’ notice if required to do so by applicable law. All Marriott Loyalty Program benefits, amenities, offers, awards and services are subject to availability and may be changed at any time without notice.
Eligibility and registration for the Preferred Partnership Program status offering.
- To participate in the Preferred Partnership Program, a participant must be a member of both the JMB Program and the Marriott Loyalty Program.
- Account Linking is only available to JMB Members and Marriott Bonvoy Members who hold an eligible tier (“Eligible Tier”) per the Status Offering listed below. You can only link one JMB Account with one Marriott Bonvoy Account. You can de-link your accounts at any time. However, if you choose to de-link your accounts, you will no longer be eligible to earn Points or Status in accordance with these Preferred Partnership Rules.

To register a request for the complimentary status offerings of the Preferred Partnership Program (the “Status Offering”), a participant must meet the following qualification criteria (“Criteria”):

If a member is a JMB Base Member, the Preferred Partnership Program offers an opportunity, through an accelerator challenge to earn Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite status by staying six (6) Qualifying Nights at a Qualifying Rate at hotels participating in Marriott Bonvoy within a six (6) month period from the date of registration every Program Year in the Preferred Partnership Program.
- When Marriott Bonvoy grants Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite status to an eligible JMB Base Member as part of the accelerator challenge, it may take up to six (6) weeks following completion of the last Qualifying Night for such member to receive the Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite status. The status is valid for at least 12 months from the date the member receives the status.

If a member is a Crystal Member, the Preferred Partnership Program offers an opportunity, through an accelerator challenge to earn Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite status by staying four (4) Qualifying Nights at a Qualifying Rate at hotels participating in Marriott Bonvoy within a six (6) month period from the date of registration every Program Year in the Preferred Partnership Program.
- When Marriott Bonvoy grants Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite status to an eligible Crystal Member as part of the accelerator challenge, it may take up to six (6) weeks following completion of the last Qualifying Night for such member to receive the Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite status. The status is valid for at least 12 months from the date the member receives the status.

If a member is a Sapphire Member:
- The Preferred Partnership Program offers complimentary Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite Status (registration required) every Program Year. The status is valid for at least 12 months from the day of registration.

The Preferred Partnership Program also offers an opportunity to participate in the accelerator challenge to receive Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status by staying ten (10) Qualifying Nights at a Qualifying Rate at hotels participating in Marriott Bonvoy within a six (6) month period from date of registration every Program Year in the Preferred Partnership Program.
- When Marriott Bonvoy grants Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status to an eligible Crystal Member as part of the accelerator challenge, it may take up to six (6) weeks following completion of the last Qualifying Night for such member to receive the Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status. The status is valid for at least 12 months from the date the member receives the status.

If a member is a JGC Premier Member:
- The Preferred Partnership Program offers complimentary Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite Status (registration required) every Program Year. The status is valid for at least 12 months from the day of registration.
- The Preferred Partnership Program also offers an opportunity to receive 10,000 Marriott Bonvoy Points by staying sixteen (16) Qualifying Nights at a Qualifying Rate at hotels participating in Marriott Bonvoy within a six (6) month period from date of registration every Program Year in the Preferred Partnership Program.

If a member is a Diamond Member:
- The Preferred Partnership Program offers complimentary Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status (registration required) every Program Year. The status is valid for at least 12 months from the day of registration.

The Preferred Partnership Program also offers an opportunity to participate in the accelerator challenge to receive Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite status by staying ten (10) Qualifying Nights at a Qualifying Rate at hotels participating in Marriott Bonvoy within a six (6) month period from date of registration in the first year of the Preferred Partnership Program.
- When Marriott Bonvoy grants Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite status to an eligible Diamond Member as part of the accelerator challenge, it may take up to six (6) weeks following completion of the last Qualifying Night for such member to receive the Marriott Bonvoy Platinum status. The status is valid for at least 12 months from the date the member receives the status.
- The Preferred Partnership Program also offers an opportunity to receive 15,000 Marriott Bonvoy Points by staying sixteen (16) Qualifying Nights at a Qualifying Rate at hotels participating in Marriott Bonvoy within a six (6) month period from date of registration every Program Year in the Preferred Partnership Program.

If a member is a Diamond Metal Member:
- The Preferred Partnership Program offers complimentary Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite Status (registration required) every Program Year. The status is valid for at least 12 months from the day of registration.

The Preferred Partnership Program also offers an opportunity to participate in the accelerator challenge to receive Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite status by staying ten (10) Qualifying Nights at a Qualifying Rate at hotels participating in Marriott Bonvoy within a six (6) month period from date of registration every Program Year in the Preferred Partnership Program.
- When Marriott Bonvoy grants Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite status to an eligible Diamond Metal Member as part of the accelerator challenge, it may take up to six (6) weeks following completion of the last Qualifying Night for such member to receive the Marriott Bonvoy Platinum status. The status is valid for at least 12 months from the date the member receives the status.
- The Preferred Partnership Program also offers an opportunity to receive 15,000 Marriott Bonvoy Points by staying sixteen (16) Qualifying Nights at a Qualifying Rate at hotels participating in Marriott Bonvoy within a six (6) month period from date of registration every Program Year in the Preferred Partnership Program.
- If a member is a Marriott Bonvoy Base Member, the Preferred Partnership Program offers 2,000 Fly on Points every Program Year.
- If a member is a Marriott Bonvoy Silver Member, the Preferred Partnership Program offers 5,000 Fly on Points every Program Year.
- If a member is a Marriott Bonvoy Gold Member, the Preferred Partnership Program offers 10,000 Fly on Points every Program Year.
- If a member is a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Members, the Preferred Partnership Program offers 20,000 Fly on Points every Program Year.

If a member is a Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Member:
- The Preferred Partnership Program offers 30,000 Fly on Points every Program Year.

The Preferred Partnership Program also offers complimentary Crystal status or above depending on the number of Fly on Points a member already has.
- When Japan Airlines grants Crystal status or above to an eligible Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Member, please allow up to six (6) weeks following completion of the registration for such member to receive the Crystal status or above.

If a member is a Marriott Bonvoy Ambassador Member:
- The Preferred Partnership Program offers 40,000 Fly on Points every Program Year.

The Preferred Partnership Program also offers complimentary Crystal status or above depending on the number of Fly on Points a member already has.
- When Japan Airlines grants Crystal status or above to an eligible Marriott Bonvoy Ambassador Member, please allow up to six (6) weeks following completion of the registration for such member to receive the Crystal status or above.

If a member is a JMB Base Member, the Preferred Partnership Program offers an opportunity, through an accelerator challenge to earn Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite status by staying six (6) Qualifying Nights at a Qualifying Rate at hotels participating in Marriott Bonvoy within a six (6) month period from the date of registration every Program Year in the Preferred Partnership Program.
- Completed registrations from members requesting complimentary status through the Preferred Partnership Program are subject to review and determination by the JMB Program and/or the Marriott Loyalty Program as to whether the member meets the Criteria, and status from such registration requests are not guaranteed.
- Japan Airlines and Marriott International reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to prevent or cancel Status Offering transactions where they (i) have reason to believe that the identity of the Member completing the Account Linking does not match the identity of the person to receive the Status Offering or (ii) suspect there has been any fraudulent activity connected with the Status Offering in relation to the JMB Member’s JMB Account.
- Preferred Partnership Program Status Offerings granted to members who meet the Criteria are generally valid for a minimum of 12 months, and expire in accordance with the JMB Program Rules or the Marriott Bonvoy Program Rules, as applicable notwithstanding the foregoing, the Marriott Loyalty Program and the JMB Program reserve the right to determine the validity period of a Status Offering, which may differ from the programs offered by the JMB Program and the Marriott Loyalty Program, respectively.
- Members of the Marriott Loyalty Program who meet the Criteria for the Preferred Partnership Program and who wish to enjoy the benefits provided by the JMB Program must register their request through the Preferred Partnership Program here.
- Members of the JMB Program who meet the Criteria for the Preferred Partnership Program and who wish to enjoy the benefits provided by the Marriott Loyalty Program must register their request through the Preferred Partnership Program at travel-partner.marriott.com/japan-airlines/en-gb.
- The Marriott Loyalty Program and the JMB Program have the right to terminate the Status Offering or to change the Status Offering policies, procedures, conditions of participation, benefits, awards and special offers, in whole or in part, at any time, with or without notice.
